I have a system with an A7N8X-E motherboard that works perfectly with the original IDE hd attached. I recently purchased an sata hd to add to the system, but when it is connected the system refuses to boot. If I disconnect the IDE hd and connect the sata hd, the system still refuses to boot. The power supply is a Thermaltake 430W, which I thought would be able to handle the load. When I turn the box on, the fans will spin for a couple of seconds and then stop. This sounds like a power problem, but I don't understand how the single sata drive can draw this much power (even when operating without the ide drive connected). I'm stumped. Any thoughts?
