Asus a8v-e deluxe instability

help!!! i have an Asus A8V-E Deluxe M/B ( with latest bios), AMD athlon 64 x2 3800+, ati x300 VGA, Western Digital 250 gb SATA150 hdd, running winXP pro. the problem is major instability, sometimes wont recognise hdd. windows shuts off and resets for no apparent reason. and i have encounted a blue screen several time saying computer is turning off to prevent hardware damage. someone PLEASE HELP
