my apologies if this is in the wrong place but I am using an asus MB

Im trying to switch from a Vista Raid setup to an XP Raid setup.

I previously had the XP raid installed and running and created a ghost image of this with the lastest version of norton ghost. I then deleted that and installed Vista, I now want to go back to my old xp raid set up,

First I tried to restore the xp ghost while I still had vista installed, it errored on me so I figure I have to reinstall XP befefore it will let me revert to the xp Ghost.

I'm now trying to reinstall XP but it seems to hang at the blue screen setup. It says

"Examining 286174mb disc 0 at id 1 on bus 0 nvraid"

so my question is, can I reinstall xp while I still have my drives in a raid set up or do I have to clear them then install xp then try and do the ghost restore?

Im not sure even how to do that if I clear the raid config from the drives.

any help at all would be much appriceated

    thank you
