    Hi guys,

I have a problem installing a western digital caviar 500gb sata drive on my k8v-x.
I have asked in another forum (here: http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167505) but with no luck.

I am running Win XP. I have plugged it in and it is detected by DOS(/my BIOS) when the computer starts up. When I'm in Windows it shows in the Computer Management (under disc management) as not initialized when I start Windows. I have tried clicking Initialize but it normally comes up with a disc error.

I say normally because it has worked a couple of times: it initialized it and sometimes I can format it so it shows in My Computer. But, when I restart Windows, I have the same problem as always.

I have tried using the WD software, Lifeguard, but that does not work either.

Any help would be great as I'm running out of things to try.

    Thanks
